Eligibility
Full-Time Team Members who work at least 25 hours per week are eligible for coverage on the 90th day of employment.
You can enroll starting on the 45th day of employment and must enroll by the 89th day for coverage to be effective on your 90th day.

Dependents
Eligible dependents may include:
- Legal spouse or domestic partner of any gender identity. Note: A Domestic Partner Affidavit Form is required only for domestic partners. See the Domestic Partners drop-down below for more information.
- Dependent children from birth to the end of the month in which they turn age 26 (eligible for Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance)
- Biological
- Adopted
- Domestic partner’s children (with a completed Domestic Partner Affidavit Form)
- Any child you support who lives with you in a parent-child relationship and for whom you are the legal guardian*
- Children with disabilities of any age who are (or become) physically or mentally incapable of self-support while covered by Shake Shack’s Team Member benefits program
*Legal guardianship is established by the court, whereby a minor child is placed under the supervision of a guardian who, under the terms of the legal guardianship, is legally responsible for the care and custody of the child. It allows the guardian to access services for the child, something that would not be possible without the legal guardianship status.
Domestic Partners
To add a domestic partner to your health insurance plans, you must complete the Domestic Partner Affidavit Form and upload the necessary documentation in Workday. The affidavit must be provided prior to the benefit effective date. Failure to do so will result in the termination of the elected coverage.
Dependent Verification
Team Members adding dependents to their benefits coverage are required to provide documentation in Workday supporting each dependent’s eligibility within 89 days of hire and 30 days of a qualifying life event. During Annual Open Enrollment, supporting documentation must be provided in Workday before the end of the enrollment period.
To verify your dependents:
- Confirm your dependents are eligible for the Shake Shack benefit plans.
- Fill out and upload the required dependent verification form to Workday before the deadline.
